So I have decided that I am going to watch every movie on AFI's top 100 movies of the past 100 years.
I like movies. I have netflix through Wii and a DVD player. I have strong opinions, a blog and free time in the evenings.
I am going to start at 100 and work my way backwards, blog about it and see where it leads. Perhaps I will find some new movies I I like. I will watch(or in the case of about 30 of the films, rewatch) and judge.
How were these movies selected?? (FROM WIKIPEDIA)
AFI asks jurors to consider the following criteria in their selection process:
Feature length: Narrative format typically over 60 minutes long
American film: English language, with significant creative and/or financial production from the United States
Critical Recognition: Formal commendation in print, television, and digital media
Major Award Winner: Recognition from competitive events including awards from peer groups, critics, guilds, and major film festivals
Popularity Over Time: Includes success at the box office, television and cable airings, and DVD/VHS sales and rentals
Historical Significance: A film's mark on the history of the moving image through visionary narrative devices, technical innovation or other groundbreaking achievements
Cultural Impact: A film's mark on American society in matters of style and substance

Wow, I cant believe That I have seen more than 75 percent of that list. No wonder I wear glasses.
A couple of friends and I took the challenege back in 2000. We actually watched all the movies that weren't rated R. Some really great ones and some real snores! Maybe I'm just not cultured enough to appreciate them all. :)
Good luck!
